Killing me softly

"I love you, not only for what you are, But for what I am when I am with you."
--Roy Croft

It can be quite tricky to talk about love or its after effects. And that is why I won’t be giving you tips on
- How to fall in love in 10 minutes or
- How to attract a girl in 2 minutes or
- How to break a relationship without breaking anyone’s heart

So what exactly is love?

The Beatles' George Harrison wondered in his famous love song about the "something" that "attracts me like no other lover." A University at Buffalo expert explains that that "something" is actually several physical elements that -- if they occur in a certain order, at the right time and in the right place -- can result in true love – Simple enough and yet quite complicated in a real life scenario.

I cannot resist bringing up the word ‘Mysticism’ here, as both love and mysticism are in some weird way are related to each other.

Mysticism:

The term "mysticism" comes from the classical Greco-Roman mystery cults. This is a belief in or the pursuit in the unification with the One or some other principle; the immediate consciousness of God.

Such were the findings of the philosopher W. T. Stace, who discovered seven common themes of mysticism when studying Roman Catholic, Protestant, ancient classical, Hindu, and American agnostic mystical experiences. They were (1) a unifying vision and perception of the One by the senses and through many objects; (2) the apprehension of the One as an inner life; (3) and objective and true sense of reality; (4) feelings of satisfaction, joy, and bliss; (5) a religious element that is a feeling of the holy and sacred; (6) a paradoxical feeling; (7) and inexpressible feelings.

If you cut out the philosophical words here, you will understand what I mean.
Hmm actually I Am more confused now than I was before. Perhaps, we may never be able to unravel the mysteries behind some things, like love, god and the universe,...

...and i think we should be grateful for that.

So long folks….

Artistic

"The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity"
--Ellen Parr

With 5 hours of power cut in rural areas, we in our office have to rely heavily on our ‘antique’ generator. Having continuously worked for more than a month it gave up finally. With nothing much to do I put on my creative hat and created these

Now, admit it you like them too don't you?

Another year

“Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”

Yup I am back to add few more posts to my blog and to make you think positive about the only novel you ever tried to write.

Just tried to recollect the important things happened to me last year

Achievement:

Shiny, Fantastic, and Sexy: Yup that’s Omnia for you
Bought myself a Samsung Omnia i8910 phone. Considering my income I think it is a great achievement.

Romance:

Huh..?? Come again what’s that?

Movie:

Avatar – A flamboyant master piece with every inch of the movie trying to show off in one way or another. But that is no reason for anyone not to enjoy it

The Proposal -Perhaps not a box office hit, perhaps not a masterpiece, but it was funny and enjoyable.

3 idiots –What do you expect to see in a movie based on friends… who are also in a college?
1) Ragging
2) Love / Romance
3) Love hating dad (obviously)
4) Tears/ sentiment
5) Everything that starts well ends well theme
And yet this movie stands apart with well written script and enjoyable performances by the actors

Friends:

Valparai – what is a year without an outing with friends?? So here I am with a bunch of my friends to Valparai (Pollachi DT, Tamilnadu State, India)

Resolution:

What is New Year without a new resolution?
My resolution is to reduce few kilos and keep myself fit. I even bought myself a bicycle.

Books:

What do they say about books? No book is an old book when you read it for the first time (brilliant isn’t it? actually I came up with that one myself)

Freakonomics –economics has never been my favorite subject (not when I’ve flunked twice in this very subject). But this book is not about economics (not entirely at least). It is more of butterfly effect or chaos theory infused into everyday economics.

The Lost Symbol- History is a two edged sword: you can either accept it as it was given to you or twist it the way you want. Apparently the later has been Dan brown’s style for three of his titles (including this one).

Games:

Batman Ark hum asylum- for a great fan of batman’s this title is a gift straight from god’s hands. It was intense, dark and mostly physcotic (with the help of The Joker of course).

Gears of War- Nope, it is not the second installment I've played, but the first one. And yup I've enjoyed it. I've to admit I was skeptical because of all those scary levels (yes I am afraid of playing shooting games with very few exceptions). But the third person view helped me to finish the game and enjoy it in the process.

Songs:

There are just too many of them, let me list the most favourite

I’m Yours-Jason Mraz
Neethane- Music:Yuvan Shankar Raja; Movie:Sarvam (Tamil)
Jao Na – Movie: What’s your rashee? Music: Sohail Sen

That's it folks. Bye(for now)
